We are pleased to announce our amazing Garden of Light event will be taking place in Fred Roche Gardens, Milton Keynes on Saturday 15 November 2014, 4pm-8pm! The event has been generously supported by Community First Funding and is FREE ENTRY for all the family and open to everyone! Wrap up warm and bring your friends, relatives and everyone you know!
Milton Keynes based artist and performer, Random Mike, will be entertaining the crowds with stilt walking, UV balloon modelling, as well as spectacular glow and fire poi performances! Amongst the beautifully lit up gardens there will be music by MKFM and African drumming group Moribayassa, refreshments, UV face painting, light installations and much more!
In the lead up to the event, we will be working with local schools and community groups to make lanterns for a lantern parade. The parade will meet at The Hub at 4pm, walking the parade route to Fred Roche Gardens where there will be glow and fire performances, music and interactive workshops until 8pm.
See our Garden of Light event page for more details.
The Fred Roche Gardens is located between Silbury Boulevard and Midsummer Boulevard, stretching from the rear of the Church of Christ the Cornerstone down to Upper Fifth Street.
We are looking for some wonderful festival volunteers to help out at the event, with everything from hanging decorations to marshalling the lantern parade. If you are interested in getting involved please email Amy Hill on firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01908 678514.
We are also inviting people along to Inter-Action MK for a Volunteer Afternoon Creative Session on Wednesday 5 November 2014, 1pm-4pm, for the chance to get creative and make lanterns and decorations for the event.
